Most members like to have a personal picture (avatar) to be associated with their name.

Due to restrictions on bandwidth, we can't host those pictures for our members right now - the cost is too high and we rely on membership donations to meet running costs.

Never fear - there is a solution...

Image hosting companies can host your avatar and you can link to it from your control panel. There are a couple of sites we like below:

Most sites have a size restriction but as avatars are small this shouldn't be a problem.

Once you've uploaded your avatar of choice (no over 18 pics please) then go to your control panel, click on "edit avatar settings" and paste the full URL (internet address) of your hosted image into the box provided.

For example: http://www.imagehost.com/myavatar.jpg

Voila, you should be sorted.
